Perspectives Gallery
Grand Opening Celebration Art Show

Perspectives Gallery is not just any art gallery.  Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in its new location at Westlake Towne Center, the gallery offers Smith Mountain Lake a unique collection of fine art and works from artists around the world.
Owner Cynthia Hinkle says “We offer a different perspective, a new way to look at things and the relationship of one thing to another, especially in art.”  The new gallery is the perfect place to enjoy a fresh perspective, as one walks around in this large, warm and peaceful space.
The gallery is currently exhibiting works by Jamali, originally from the northwestern Himalayas, who offers mystical expressionistic works in large format.  Nationally-known artist Barbara Burlingame shows off her abstracts with vivid color and action using acrylic, layered torn papers and found objects.  Landscape and wildlife photographer John Hinkle’s photographs stand in a class of their own.  Local painter and sculptor, Ed Dolinger, adds his colorful large abstracts on canvas and welded steel sculpture to the collection and will be the featured artist for August.  A Grand Opening Reception featuring his work will be held Saturday, August 24, from 6 – 9 PM.
Visiting this fine art gallery should be on everyone’s list of lake experiences.  One cannot help to see a new ‘perspective’ of life after being there, and don’t forget to look at the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge outside the gallery window.  If you’re lucky, you’ll see a real life sunset just as beautiful as the paintings inside.
