Business and Pleasure The 1st SML Chamber of Commerce/Partnership Business Expo All Day Friday, April 23, 2004 at Bridgewater Plaza
Each day our community is growing. New businesses start, old businesses change their focus, and companies continually add services and options. While we are a tight-knit community, it’s impossible to keep up with everything that goes on. Some area residents even drive to Roanoke or Lynchburg because they don’t realize just how much we have right here. Now is the time for businesses to get together and show each other, as well as the public, how much Smith Mountain Lake has to offer. It’s the first SML Chamber of Commerce/Partnership Business Expo. Get to know the lake. Companies join SMLCCP for one reason. They want to be part of the community. That’s why there are currently over 500 members. With that many members, it’s very likely that someone has the services or products you need. The Business Expo brings us all together. It’s the best way to see more of what our community offers. On Friday, April 24th, the SMLCCP will change Bridgewater Plaza into a gallery of goods, services and information. Mango’s Restaurant, courtyard and lower lot will be the host site. Booths will set the stage for Expo visitors to intermingle and learn more about lake area businesses. This event will allow leaders, business owners and residents to connect with the common goal of encouraging community support. Even if you’re not interested in finding a particular product or service, this is a great way to get to know your neighbors. It will give businesses and residents a chance to build stronger relationships and friendships. The Business Expo will bridge the gap between the products and services offered and those needed in our growing community. Scheduled in the all-day event are educational seminars, demonstrations and networking sessions. And then we get to the pleasure part of the occasion. You know that the signature of our area is our entertaining and casual lifestyle, so we can’t have any event without making it a lot of fun. Throughout the day the SMLCCP will schedule fun events and have drawings for a wide variety of door prizes. Following the Expo there will be a SML Chamber Business After Hours from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The evening event, also held at Mangos will feature music, food and refreshments.
