   The ELBA was started in 1999 to encourage businesses on the East Side of Smith Mountain Lake to join together to establish a presence, combine marketing efforts, help each other grow and preserve and promote historical efforts. 
   In two short years our membership has grown to more than 170 members.  Membership is by donation and individuals or companies may join by calling 540.297.3200 and speaking to Charlene or Pat.  We will mail, email or fax an application.  New members can be immediately added to the ELBA web page and be included in the brochure for the next printing.
   We offer business to business discounts, referrals, a color brochure and a website (EASTLAKE-SML.COM).  Our brochures are distributed at each member business location as well as the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Dare, Dairy Queen, Food Lion, Mariners Landing Golf & Country Club, and lake businesses.  Our website allows members to find other members, offer discounts, and a place to put their information on the web, should they not have their own website.
