The Miracle of McKenna Kate
Dear Fellow Laker,

On July 1st, 2002 our family was blessed with the addition of McKenna Kate Gaudio. At 7:30 pm after twelve hrs. of labor, McKenna Kate was born. She weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long. The doctor ran the usual tests and informed us we had a happy healthy baby girl.

Later on that evening we returned to the nursery to find McKenna Kate with an IV in her scalp and ECG/Pulse Oximetry wires all over her body. She had experienced seizures and had a loss of vital signs. We waited and prayed until about 3:00 am then the Doctor told us that the abnormal activity was caused by swelling in the head from the traumatic birth.

We started calling family and friends asking for their prayers. We found out later there were people in seven different states praying for our little miracle. McKenna Kate had several more seizures that morning. It wasn’t until Pastors Nick and Daniel came by Tuesday afternoon to pray that she stopped experiencing the seizures.

We want to thank everyone for their prayers and your generous gifts of love. We are truly blessed to live in a community where so many people consider us family.

The Laker continues to the revolutionize communications on the lake. We have added a second generation web site with many new features and helpful interactive community forums.

We also have begun work on a new Real Estate section which imports listings directly from the web. Imagine no more advertising print approvals, and allowing users to view all the lake listings from one web site!
