Laker Readers Find Rewards

                Actually, you didn’t even have to read the magazine to benefit from the latest venture of Laker Advertising. Laker Rewards, a direct mail co-op, was sent to every mailbox and post office box around the lake. That’s over 17,000 addresses. Each envelope featured 10 valuable offers from lake businesses. While the value from the businesses could save residents hundreds of dollars, five of the packages actually featured a winning ticket for $500. Yep - $500 with no entry required and no strings attached. The only catch was that the recipient had to call and claim their prize by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12. One lucky winner made the call. Georgia Gregware of Goodview called; even though her husband thought it had to be some kind of trick. When she came to pick up her check, her first comment was, “This couldn’t have come at a better time.” As it turns out, the mother of two was out of work and looking for a little extra cash to pay the bills and buy groceries. Congratulations, Georgia! We wish you the best.
