01 January 2007

Since the Smith Mountain Laker magazine’s inception, we have felt it appropriate to end the year and start the next by recognizing the people who have made a significant impact on Smith Mountain Lake though their achievements over the past year. This year, we will let the pictures do the talking. In this issue you will find an expansive photo spread, a collection of our best photography ever. We hope it will be a coffee-table favorite of yours for years to come. We had a tremendous response to our Best of 2007 voting. For the first time, we had more online votes than mailed-in ballots and the most geographically diverse voting pool ever. Thank you to everyone who filled out a ballot and congrats to our winners (See Best Of Page 99). It’s hard to believe it’s 2007. And though we may not have the flying cars we dreamed about when we were young, we do have hybrid cars and 24-hour, pay-atthe- pump gas for cars and boats. So what can you expect in the upcoming year? I’ve got no bold predictions, but I know one thing for sure: 2007 will be another great year!

Happy New Year,

Micah J. Gaudio

Publisher

P.S. All of the photos featured can be purchased on our web site as photo prints as large as 46 x 72 inches and in custom sizes for your home or office.
