Who's Who in Wakeboarding on SML

                The 2006 season is starting off with a bang for locals. Eric Carter, Blackwater Boarder and team rider for Freestyle won the Mid Atlantic Outlaw competition June 10 at Smith Mountain Lake. Wake-N-Skate team rider Joel Wagner clinched the Invert Division and Danny Waters won the wake skate.

                SML local legend Brian Reeder has been making waves of his own in Orlando and recently was featured in a two-page spread in Alliance Wakeboard Magazine.

                Eric Gerner finished third at the World Wakeboarding Championships last year in Australia and has a full summer booked with competitions as well as wakeboard lessons at Wake-N-Skate board shop. His clothing company, Reverence USA, sponsors all types of riders from other extreme sports.

                These are just a few of the big-name riders that call SML home, but we’re surprised at how many boarders don’t even show up to competitions. For them, just riding is enough. So if your out there and you land a big trick make sure you have your video camera with you or we won’t believe you either.
