Little Ones

Now open and filling the kid niche at SML is Little Ones, a store specializing in children’s clothing (infant to teen), shoes and accessories. Owner Joanne Rossi describes the store as offering “high quality items at very reasonable prices.” At Little Ones, parents and grandparents can find toys, books, handbags, scarves, socks, tights, movies and a variety of toys, including handmade Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Rossi also organizes children’s birthday parties on Sundays by appointment. Themes for girls include tea parties, fashion shows and makeovers while boys can choose from NASCAR, Thomas the Tank Engine and others. Little Ones is also offering a consignment service, accepting select gently used clothing. Little Ones is located at Lake Plaza (next to Safari Golf). 540.721.0660

Doggy Dock
The only creatures who love SML more than Lakers are Laker pets. Now you can make your dog’s trip from the water to the dock or boat easier with the Doggy Dock™ from Dock Solutions. Designed to be gentle on a dog’s feet, joints and muscles, the Doggy Dock™ features a deck made of UV-resistant plastic resin that’s easy to set up and maintain. The deck doubles as a place for Fido to shake off and rest between retrieves without the risk of injury – to pet and owner – posed when being hauled back on board or climbing a slippery ladder. The dog is guided to the deck between two flotation tubes and simply swims forward until he feels the slope of the rubberized-mesh ramp underfoot. Get the Doggy Dock™  for $309.99 and your four-legged friend will thank you. 540.721.5501

Holley Insurance

An established insurance firm in Franklin County with an office in Boones Mill, Steve Holley will open a second location in January at Lake Plaza  (in the space formerly occupied by China City). The office will be initially staffed by Holley, Tammy Hodges and Wendy Washburn and will offer auto, home, business, life and health insurance. Holley, who represents numerous national companies but works primarily with Erie Insurance Group, said he’s opening the new office “to service our existing Lake clientele better and hopefully expand it.” Holley has been a licensed insurance agent since 1994 and founded his company in 2000. holleyins.com or 540.719.7100
