Trinity Ecumenical Parish
Reverend Dr. Gary K. Scheidt

Seven years ago, when Trinity Ecumenical Parish planned its present facility, the congregation was an enthusiastic collection of faithful people with high hopes, big dreams and powerful visions for what God could do. Since we had no building of our own at all, we knew we needed everything – space for worship, for fellowship, for Christian education and childcare, and some offices. All of the advice and guidance we received at the time told us we needed to restrict ourselves to about 10,000 square feet – thought to be a generous and ambitious size for a first unit.
If you drive up and down Route 122 you already know that the Parish is in the midst of a major expansion and renovation. From the road you can already see Phase One, which is a new unit for Christian Education, childcare, music and youth activities.  It will contain three floors, with the third floor unfinished and ready for future growth.  Phase Two is well underway, but not visible from the road. That's the expansion of the fellowship hall, which will just about double its size. And underneath the new fellowship hall will be an unfinished basement - also reserved for future needs. Phase Three is just beginning and will add additional offices and administrative space. Early in 2003, Phase Four will commence, and it will enlarge the sanctuary from 300 seats to 450.
As was the case with the original building, the needs of the Lake community have also been an important factor in the planning and design of the expansion and renovation. Trinity Ecumenical Parish will continue to open its doors to the many organizations and events from throughout the area which have enjoyed its hospitality.  TEP hopes that this new facility will serve the community in even better ways as we all continue to grow together.
While all of this is going on, Trinity Ecumenical Parish is keeping its ministry up and running.  Two worship services are offered every Sunday morning – one at 8 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m.  If you would like to know more, check out the website at www.smltep.org or call the parish office (721-4330) and request to be on the mailing list.
