Smith Mountain Lake is for Wine Lovers

The taste of the Lake will be "Wine" on the weekend of Sept. 28 and 29 during the 14th Annual Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival at Bernard's Resort and Conference Center. The event promises to be an exciting weekend, offering fine wines, delicious specialty foods and live entertainment along the banks of Smith Mountain Lake.
Celebrate with 16 of Virginia's wineries as they offer samples of their award winning wines. Whether you are a wine lover or just tempting your tastebuds, Virginia wines offer flavors and styles to please every palette. Winemakers will be on hand to answer wine-related questions and assist guests with their sampling. Enjoy a favorite or try something new. Sip a glass at the festival or take a bottle home. It's your chance to enjoy a "grape" day the Smith Mountain Lake way! In addition to award-winning wines, entertainment by popular bands Key West, Saturday from 1-5 p.m.; and Encore, Sunday from 1-3 p.m. will keep things lively.
Participating wineries this year include Tarara Vineyard & Winery, The Williamsburg Winery Ltd, Barboursville Vineyard, First Colony Winery, Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery,  Horton Cellars Winery/Montdomaine Cellars,  Rebec Vineyards,  Rockbridge Vineyard, Stonewall Vineyards & Winery, Wintergreen Winery, Chateau Morrisette, Peaks of Otter Winery, Valhalla Vineyards and Tomahawk Mill Winery.

Sponsored by Smith Mountain Lake Chamber/Partnership, advance tickets
are available for $14 by calling (800) 676-8203. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate for $18. Designated driver and children's tickets are $7.
Tickets are valid for one-day admission into the festival which is held both days, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
