Pirates of the Carribbean Feast By Ferne Hale
Here’s inspiration for a tropical – and topical – late summer dock party. Entertain your favorite “Pirates” with this treasure chest of Caribbean menu ideas. Ahoy, Mates! The grog is flowing; dinner is served! Beverages Your favorite fruity punch, icy cold and garnished with fruit on skewers; Lemonade or soft drinks; Hurricane Grog (see accompanying recipe). Buy, Heat & Eat Here’s a quick and easy menu with easy snacks to buy and try. • Cream cheese covered with hot pepper jelly with mound of crab on top. Serve with crackers. • Coconut Shrimp (frozen food section) • Island Lime Shrimp (frozen food section) • Jerk Chicken Strips (frozen food section) • Tropical Fruit Bowl. Provide long bamboo skewers for poking fruit of choice. • Make-your-own fruit skewers. Include chunks of pineapple, mango, orange, papaya. You may also add cantaloupe, watermelon or honeydew chunks. For dessert, try... • Frozen pie (Banana Cream, Coconut Cream or Key Lime) • Whole Fruit brand sorbet. Orange Curacao 4 oz. Triple Sec Serve over a full glass of ice garnished with stick of pineapple and maraschino cherry.
