A Pastor’s Journey With Halesford Baptist

     It has been a joy to have been on a journey as pastor of Halesford Baptist Church for the past thirty-one years.  That’s three decades at the same church!  Not many pastors are privileged to serve one church that long.  It has been a great journey for my wife Mimi, our son Brandon, and me.  We have been blessed by God and the people.
     The church has grown tremendously over those years and the people have become my extended family.  As people visited beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, fell in love with the area and moved in, Halesford Church has been blessed by God to grow with the area.  During those years, we have had five different building projects and are presently involved with our sixth.  The new addition will house a family life center on one floor and a nursery and Sunday School rooms on another floor.  We look forward to moving into our new facility this fall.  We feel this will enhance our ministry and give us a greater outreach to the community.
     If you have a church home, stay active in your church. Your pastor needs you, your fellow church members need you, and most of all God needs you.  However, if you do not have a church home, come and worship with us.  We would love to become your church home.  Remember, “we can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth us”- Philippians 4:13 (KJV).
     The past thirty-one years have been a great journey for my family and my church family.  We look forward to what God has in store for us as the future unfolds.
